GrandBackup

Task Properties: Advanced - Log Settings

Enable activity logging - If this is checked, GrandBackup will record its real-time activity (like Task startups, processed file names, etc.) in the log file you have specified.

Log file name:

Type in any file name you like.

Caution

Note:
The log file name must be a valid file name with an extension.
If you don't specify the full path to the log file here, GrandBackup will save the log file in the program folder.

Maximum Log file size:

GrandBackup overwrites the log file when it grows beyond a certain size. You can change this size limit by specifying a number in the box labeled Maximum log file size. The file size is measured in kilobytes (KB). If you set this number to zero, GrandBackup will overwrite the log file every time it starts.

Records to be included in the Log:

You can reduce the size of the Log by excluding unneeded records. This allows you, for instance, to log only errors and warnings rather than all the various file-copying messages. It is recommended that you do not change these options until you are familiar with the GrandBackup operations and the Log. After you have run GrandBackup for a few days and are satisfied with its performance, feel free to adjust these settings to your liking.

General messages - Log Task startup, pause, end, suspend, etc. and summary information.

Messages about normally processed files - Log every normally processed filename.

Messages about skipped files - Log every skipped filename.

Warning messages - Log warnings.

Error messages - Log critical errors.

FTP commands and responses - Log FTP-related messages.

External programs' console output - Log the output of external compressors/encryptors, if applicable.
